September 18, 2022 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
$20 – $25“… it was the sterling performance of Georgie Aué which made the night so unforgettable. The band played with ease and you can’t help but admire her beautiful voice, complemented by her skills as a pianist.” – 5 stars, What’s On In Adelaide
“…there was plenty to admire in the phrasing of Aué’s vocals, her light touch at the keyboard… a sterling performance”. – S Evans, Independent Weekly
Join accomplished Australian pianist, vocalist, and songwriter Georgie Aué and her incredible 9-piece band for a night of Latin American rhythms, sweet jazz harmonies and a whole lotta groove as she launches her third studio album ‘Desert Cry’.
Drawing on the artistic influences of AC Jobim, Elis Regina, Diana Krall, Stevie Wonder and Norah Jones, Georgie will serenade you with a melting pot of styles – fusing jazz and blues with Brazilian jazz – her voice the cherry on top.
The endless days of summer in Perth, the ups and downs of love in all forms of relationships, and a passion for the natural environment were all inspiration for the songs on ‘Desert Cry’ due for release on 16 September. Written and recorded over the last two years in Perth and Adelaide, this elegant record is rich in rhythm, texture, and harmony – a joy to get lost in.
No stranger to Ellington Jazz Club audiences, Georgie performs regularly in Perth, Melbourne, and Adelaide and at festivals around the country including the Adelaide Fringe Festival, Jazz By the Bay and Cabaret Fringe Festival playing to sell-out audiences with shows ‘A Norah Jones Tribute’, ‘A Day In The Life – The Beatles’ and ‘Come to Brazil’.
This album of original songs will be brought to life by some of Australia’s leading instrumentalists and long-time collaborators who are all performing at this intimate concert.
